I was impressed by the message we got from Dr. Smith at the last spring meeting
held in Bristol (the year escapes me) when he chastised the birding community
for not supporting habitat conservation compared to the hunting community. Of
course he was correct, and it sounds like we got the message. The Duck Stamp
is a great thing, and I am sure the Ivory-bill Stamp will also be a big
success.
I would also like to encourage everyone to purchase Tennessee Wildlife Stamps.
The proceeds go to habitat conservation and they stay in Tennessee. This
year's stamp features a Carolina Wren. A block of four looks pretty good
matted and framed!
