Birders,
When I moved to my present address in early December 1987, I remember a nice
lady named Ann Tarbell coming by early one Saturday morning and asking if she
could birdwatch along my creek. She explained that NTOS had always found
Spotted Sandpipers along Vaughn Creek on the Christmas Count. I was happy for
to do it and later saw the bird myself. Only once since then have I seen the
bird until today. The heavy rains have made the bank a mud flat and I saw the
Spotted Sandpiper there about 9AM today. There were two other peeps also but
they flew away before identification could be completed.
