[TN-Bird] Chickadees leave nest just in time

Thank goodness my five baby chickadees left their nest on Sunday and began to
join the old folks at my feeders and roosting the my very thick and bushy
althea. This morning, the winds broke off the dead tree top that contained
the hole in which they were hatched, and it came tumbling to the ground.
Meanwhile, the baby chickadees are safe and sound. After the rain passed,
they have all been talking chickadee baby talk, begging for food and learning
to go to the feeder.
Meanwhile, the baby mockingbirds have not left their nests, but are
apparently unharmed. I hear the babies begging from three different nests in
the neighborhood while the three sets of parents are eating me out of peanut
butter, grape jelly, yellow cake, apples, bananas and oranges.
The parent cardinals, titmice and Carolina wrens are still carrying food, so
they have young at undisclosed locations which I haven't found yet. At the
rate those parents are toting food, I guess their young have survived as
well. From what I can tell, God took care of his tiny creatures just fine.
Cheers & prayers to all you great birders during this time of stressful
weather for us all.
