[TN-Bird] Two Possible Breeding Birds

It was delightful to hear the song of the Brown Thrasher early in this cloudy
dark rainy morning. I located him about mid way up in a big Ash tree fanning
his wings evidently to get rid of the occasional big rain drops which were
dampening his feathers. As he continued to fluff his body feathers he was also
doing his repeated two note song.
O to have small fledging Brown Thrashers again like I had in my Marietta, Ga.
yard where the fledglings would find my patio with me there. They were
oblivious of me but the parents were doing loud fussing calls
with a frantic dance through the apple and pear trees in my back yard telling
these inexperienced birds of
all the danger they were in. The young saw no threat so ignored the calls even
when the parent flew on the patio to get them to move.
I also had "my" Catbird nearby feeding under the Hazel Nut bushes in the leaves
on the ground but no songs from this bird. I have not heard the Catbird song
this season but there it was.
I had three Blue Jays at my feeders this past week. Others mentioned having
several Jays at their feeders. I miss the Jays for they seem to find nothing
appealing in my yard area if there is a plentiful supply of acorns and other
natural foods for them.. It seems last springs late freeze eliminated the nuts
and other natural foods the Jays like.. so they are using feeders a lot. The
same for the large squirrels in the area.
A great birding time!
