[tn-bird] Vermilion Flycatcher: rumination

My posting is just a musing and NOT a report: about 5 days ago my non-birder
mom,
who now lives in a well-wooded neighborhood ~15 miles east of Gallaher Rd
(Farragut), tried to describe to me by phone a very unusual red bird, smaller
than
a cardinal, shorter tail, but that didn't seem to be a House or Purple finch...
