Dean, We started going to Sanibel in 1969.  Now I rent a condo on Captiva 
which is on the north end of Sanibel.  If you will be there for a week, it is 
cheaper to rent a condo.  A couple of places which I would recommend would be 
the Sanibel Inn (is near causeway) or Casa Ybel.  Prices are much cheaper 
this time of year.

The first is a rental company that I have found to be good to deal with.  At 
their website you can see rates and what is available.

For Sanibel Inn go to     http://www.south-seas-resort.com/
This company has the South Seas Resort and also owns Casa Ybel and Sanibel 
Inn as well as a couple of other places.  They also have the Sundial, but I 
think you would prefer elsewhere.
