In the 75 minutes before volunteer training started this morning I saw 30  
species in and around the Cades Cove sewerage ponds and ranger station in Great 
 
Smoky Mountain National Park - Blount County.  FOS species were 3  
Blue-winged teal on the lower pond, Black-throated green warbler, a Coopers 
hawk  and a 
Broad-winged hawk.  The turkeys are still displaying in many of the  fields 
near the entrance of the loop drive.
