[TN-Bird] Ospreys

Our daughter lives in Murfreesboro, TN. About two weeks ago, while
shopping, she caught a brief look at a large white bird carrying a stick.
She followed by car after the bird in flight. She knew it was an osprey.
She found the osprey and a big "sloppy" nest under construction. The nest
is near Florence Road in a subdivision. The nest is on a utility pole - if
I remember correctly.
Overall creek in near by; also, Stones River. Will anyone respond with how
large a body of water an osprey needs to feed young and how far from the
nest do they usually fly for fishing?
Our daughter checked 4/7, and the osprey was sitting on the nest.
Do ospreys return to previous nests???
