[TN-Bird] Compensation for poor count

Today is day 2 of my last Cornell count for the season, and it is very quiet
here. Everything is in ones or twos except for the White-throated Sparrows.
These are surely molting as they are all patchy looking around the head. They
seem very nervous, dashing out and feeding very quickly at intervals before
retreating into the woods. The compensation was our first view of a Giant
Swallowtail butterfly. He sat in the odd posture in the book (Peterson, Eastern
Butterflies, p. 134) in which the yellow marks on the wings for a wide U with a
transverse horizontal bar. A very striking animal. Ralph Brinkhurst, Lebanon,
Wilson County.
