This morning, Mary Erwin, Margaretha Soderqvist Lindblad of Sweden, and
Bill Grigsby birded several locations in Kingsport (Sullivan County)
At the Patrick Henry Dam:
Great Horned Owl - 3 (including 2 nestlings)
Great Blue Herons - 20 flying and on nests (3 nests occupied in tree with
Great Horned Owl)
Black-Crowned Night Heron - 3
Tree Swallows - 10
Eastern Bluebird - 2
Pileated Woodpecker
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Northern Cardinal
On the Greenbelt at American Way:
White-Throated Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Red-Winged Blackbird
Yellow-Crowned Night Heron - 10 on nests and displaying
Black-Crowned Night Heron - 1
Mallards
Wood Duck - 2
Great Blue Heron
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Downey Woodpecker - heard
American Robin
Greenbelt/Boatyard (1/4 mile west of Netherland Inn)
Black Vultures (30)
Red-Breasted Merganser (1)
Great Blue Herons (6 on nests on island in river)
Double-Crested Cormorant (2 - nesting in tree with GB Herons)
Mallards
Canada Goose - 10
Ring-Billed Gull (1)
Carolina Chickadee
Common Grackle - 10
Tree Swallows - 6
Blue Jay
American Crow
American Robin
In Colonial Heights
Eastern Phoebe
