[TN-Bird] Possible Goshawk near Brentwood

I-65 near Concord Rd.
Brentwood, Williamson County

Last Friday, I was taking my father to a doctor's appointment in Nashville. As
we neared Concord Rd. exit on I-65, we saw a large accipiter flying over the
interstate. It appeared to be the size of a Red-tailed Hawk. The bird had the
longer, narrower wings (for an accipiter) typical of goshawks. Of course, at
65 mph in traffic, our view was brief and positive ID could not be made. Keep
an eye open if you are in the area. This was probably a migrant, so chances
will not be good for future sightings...but who knows.
