I got out for a few hours this morning, to check a couple of my local areas for
migrants. I wasn't disappointed, as there was much singing going on, on this
nice calm morning. Among birds seen (or heard,as most warblers were) :

12 sp. of Warbers:
Northern Parula (10+)
Yellow 1 (singing)
Magnolia (pretty early for Maggies, though I never could get a look at the
bird, it was singing in classic Maggie style)
Yellow-rumped (only 2)
Yellow-throated (several singing)
Pine (several)
Prairie (several singing)
Black-and-white (1 singing)
Prothonotary (1)
La. Waterthrush (several)
Common Yellowthroat (1)
Hooded Warbler (3 singing)

3 sp. of Vireos, with multiples each of White-eyed, Yellow-throated, and
Red-eyed.

Other migrants included 2 Solitary Sandpipers, Chimney Swifts (my 1st of the
year), Ruby-throated Hummingbird (also my 1st), Eastern Kingbird (1st), many
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and a nice flock of 9 Purple Finches. The Purples were
very active, with much singing and chasing about.

Good Birding!!
