I got a call from Charlie Muise reporting 7 Pectoral sandpiper at Heritage  
High School.  I went out at 2:30 and found them in the grass between the  
Middle school and High school parking lots.  I then spent time in Maryville  
College Woods and then on to Phelp's Dairy Farm pond, the stilt pond and Scenic 
 
Point.  I got 4 new year birds - Pectoral sandpipers, Greater Yellowlegs at  
the 
stilt pond (along with 30 Blue-winged teal, 6 Shovelers, 2 widgeon, 2 Wood  
ducks, 1 Black duck and some Mallards),  a gorgeous male Ruddy duck at  Phelps 
pond and Barn swallows everywhere.  Birding between 2:30 and 5:15 I  got 52 
species.
