FreeLists / tn-bird / [TN-Bird] Scarlet Tanager and more

Yesterday, at Turkey Creek Wetland in west Knoxville, Lyn Bales observed a
scarlet tanager hopping around in the bushes near the greenway, next to a
storage trailer.  Where Turkey Creek passes under I-40, on the south side, I
saw two Killdeer adults bobbing around with two small youngsters. Many (30+)
Wilson's Snipe have been seen in large, semi-marshy stormwater holding ponds
in this area as well. These holding ponds are not ponds right now; there is
no water in them. 

I did not see or hear the nest-building, red-shouldered hawk all morning or
afternoon. 

Leaving downtown Knoxville a couple evenings ago, I believe I heard a common
night-hawk, but never saw it and only heard it call/ "peent" a couple of
times.
