During a brief bird outing this morning (4-1-04) at Boone Dam, approximately 
36-40 common loons were noted between Boone Dam Overlook and Lakeview Marina. 
Other birds of note included:

Kingfisher
Tree Swallow

Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Ring-billed Gull
Double-crested Cormorant
Mallard
Turkey Vulture
Carolina Wren
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Blue Jay

American Crow

Carolina Chickadee

Tufted Titmouse
Cardinal
Eastern Meadowlark

Common Grackle
American Robin

Northern Mockingbird
Song Sparrow
