[tn-bird] Zoom Lens

Hello fellow birders,
Does a zoom lens distort the image. I am contemplating
buying a Nikon spotting scope. It has an 80 mm objective
lens with a 20-60 zoom lens. Should I also purchase a
wide angle lens? Any opinion would be appreciated.
