Black Bayou WMA
Reelfoot Lake Area
At dusk last night (March 1) I heard and saw several Am. Woodcocks displaying
down at the road that runs parallel to the Campground. Lots of Peenting on
both side of the road.
Today, March 2, I was walking through the trail along the fields behind the
Autumn Olives and 4 Lesser Yellowlegs flew up calling, flushed by the
dogs...lot of ducks on the ponds, including Mallard, Green-wing Teal, N.
Shoveler, and the A. Coot. A Red Tailed Hawk, and a Red Shouldered Hawk were
also noted. Was a beautiful day to be out.
All is quiet at the 2 Eagle nests on the Levee..The Eagle on each nest was
patiently in waiting. Male N. Harrier was working the levee.
