[TN-Bird] Three yard birds in three days

  • From: Bill Pulliam <bb551@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

On the heels of #149 and #150 yesterday, yard bird #151 showed up
this morning (3/17/07) in the form of a much-overdue first American
Coot on our 1 acre pond. Finding three new yard tickies in three
consecutive days has been quite unexpected, considering I have been
here for over four years.

In other local notes -- first Chipping Sparrows of the spring today
also (they don't generally winter down here in the hollow). The only
long-distance migrant that I have seen here this spring so far was a
Northern Rough-winged Swallow back on March 11.
