Metro Nashville's newest park, Bell's Bend in N.W. Davidson Co.
Nashville area birders are excited to finally have access to Bell's Bend
Park, a large (aprox. 1,000 acres) area of rolling fields, tree lines and
bottom
land. There are plans for wildlife enhancement, shorebird ponds etc., for
the future, but right now it is one of the best spots around Nashville for
experiencing Am. Woodcock displays. On a sunset walk there Sarah Scott and
Richard Connors observed the following:
Am. Woodcock - 8 heard or seen
Great-horned Owl - 1 perched in treeline
N. Harrier - 1
Song Sparrow - 100+
White-throated Sparrow -100+
Swamp Sparrow - 10
