[TN-Bird] Cove Lake

Went to Cove Lake State Park in Campbell County, TN this morning to look for
the Common Merganser. I didn't find it but I did have a 3 grebe day. A pair
of Horned Grebes, a Pied Billed Grebe and a rather distant Eared Grebe.
Luckily Nell Moore stopped by and confirmed that it was indeed an Earned
Grebe. The darned bird then disappeared while we were still trying to study
it and hoping it would come closer.

Other ducks at the park were a few Mallards, Gadwalls, some Canada Geese, 5
or 6 American Wigeons, a pair of Ring-Necks and a male Bufflehead over by
the Campground.

All in all a very enjoyable way to spend the morning when I should have been
working.

Carole Gobert, Knoxville, TN
