[TN-Bird] Re: Possible Pine Grosbeak

To close up on the 1992 record, I went back last night and checked
on this one. As Steve mentioned it is written up in The Migrant,
specifically Volume 65 (1994). There were 4 birds reported, 2 male
and 2 female if memory serves (should have written this email last
night). They were observed by several people eating maple buds.
And again, this was March 1992 in Benton Co, TN, and it is the
only record accepted by (or submitted to) the TBRC.

I haven't been able to dig up the reference on the eastern mountain
sighting but it involved a single male eating grit on the side of
the road and was reported on TNbird or Valley Birds. I'm almost
positive but I guess it could have been a NC or VA bird... or a
dream... had a nice one about spring warbler migration last night.
