I spotted a pileated woodpecker working the low trunk of a maple tree in
Crieve Hall area of Nashville this morning.(actual location: corner of
Northcrest and Whispering Hills) This is a fairly high-traffic area; lots of
houses, cars and people. I stopped my car (in the middle of the street) and
stared for about 5 minutes. Made me happy!
