Willie was really hungry this morning as he appeared out of the
semi-darkness at 5:48 a.m. and made 7 trips to the feeder within 6
minutes.  Seems a little unusual because he fed on sugar water and
insects until 5:33 p.m. Saturday and must have gone to bed with a full
tummy.  He was a darling as he sat in his bare bush several times during
the day and from that bush launched up like a little missile to grab
insects.  His speed and manueuverability are incredible.  And he's
looking so much better now that the gorget molt is almost finished and
his throat blazes with a glowing red when light hits it at the correct
angle.  We want him to get finished with the molt and return to his
unblemished beauty.  But we also know this may mean he will now be ready
to leave us when he is dressed in his "courting colors".  Love is a
paradox.
