[TN-Bird] Feeder Birds: Blount Co

I'm home today with 9 mo. Allan, so I've been able to
check out the feeders this snowy morning. I kept
hoping for a Pine Siskin, but no such luck. The day
didn't bring too many surprises. The numbers were
good. I got to see a variety of color plumages in
various species including PURPLE FINCH. Some of the
GOLDFINCH are starting to molt in to their breeding
plummage.

The nicest surprise was when I first looked out there
was a male RED WINGED BLACKBIRD at the tube feeder
getting Black oil sunflower seed. Also surprising was
the female TOWHEE at the "house-style" feeder (Do they
have an official name?)--rather than on the ground or
at the platform feeder.

Other birds seen:
MOURNING DOVE
DOWNY WOODPECKER
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER
BLUE JAY
CAROLINA CHICKADEE
TUFTED TITMOUSE
WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH
CAROLINA WREN
AMERICAN ROBIN
EUROPEAN STARLING
NORTHERN CARDINAL
DARK-EYED JUNCO
FIELD SPARROW
SONG SPARROW
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
HOUSE FINCH
