Yesterday morning and again this morning I had 1 male Hooded Merganser with
1 female in a wooded pond that borders my farm here in Coker Creek. The male
was in perfect breeding plumage. These are the first Mergansers I've had.
Every year about this time we get one new duck specie on this pond. They
never stay...but always a nice sight.
