[TN-Bird] hunch pays off: rescue almost needed

Hi folks,
With all the spring flowers popping up, and the anglewing butterflies
getting pretty thick (though I've not yet seen a Mourning Cloak -
where are ours?) I heard the forecast for last night was warm with a
front coming through. Goodie!
Left the windows open when I went to bed, following a get together
with 14 friends and some liquid refreshments out of both bottles and
jars.
So at 6:36 this morning when I heard the loud whistling over the
sound of the Middle Prong of the Little River, it didn't register.
After a couple minutes the fog (in my head, not outside) cleared
enough for me to spring out of bed, grab my binoculars, then a pair
of pants and rush outside to see my first LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH of
the year. He was a beauty, singing away on a branch a foot over the
cooold (I know, I was in it last night) water.
However the combination of excitement, bare feet and foggy mind cause
me to loose my footing on the steep bank. I don't know how I was
able to keep from plunging into the cold water, but my backside sure
was unhappy as I climbed back up!
Oh, well. It was worth it.
Charlie
