I found two more occupied Red-tailed Hawk's nests while traveling around
Memphis today. Both had birds setting but no evidence they were as far along
as the bird feeding young the other day.
Purple Martins were seen at three locations and Tree Swallows were seen
migrating a couple of times. One bunch of Turkey Vultures rose from the woods
at T.O. Fuller State Park about 10 this morning. They finally numbered 14
birds and soared till almost out of sight and then glided one after another
to the North. A Red-tailed Hawk joined them in the kettle but dropped back to
the woods when it lost the travel lust. A few swallows also were seen briefly
to join the uplift but broke off to flycatch but still drifted northward.
Good Birding!!!
