[TN-Bird] The sky dance

This evening, I went to the Millington Navy Base to see if the woodcock were
courting. A damp, scrubby are at the end of Singleton Parkway, just east of
the MS Carriers training area, is usually productive at this time of year.
In about 15 minutes, I heard 6 "peenting", heard at least a half dozen
twittering in flight and observed 3 courtship flights. The sky dance of the
woodcock can lift a very heavy heart.
