I don't get to check Old Hickory lake area often so I'm not sure if a  winter 
sighting of great egrets is out of the ordinary or not.
 
In a small embayment between Bledsoe Creek State Park & Cairo boat  ramp:
GREAT EGRET 2
Bonaparte's gull 27
Ring-billed gull  6
Lesser scaup 2
Gadwall  3
Hooded mergansers 2
 
On the water at Bledsoe Creek State Park:
Am. coots  100
Ring-billed gull 20+
Mallard 12
Hooded merganser 2
Great blue heron
 
Richard Connors
Nashsville TN
