[TN-Bird] Questions

Birding friends,
I have two questions if anyone might take time to reply. First, we have
pine warblers coming to our birdbath. We have a stand of pines on our property
where they nest each year and are among the earliest we see in the spring, but
we have not seen them before here at this time of year. I know the range maps
indicate they might stay here all year, but are these likely to be ones in the
Chattanooga area that do not migrate or are these likely to be ones that have
come down from the North while ours have migrated further to the South. I
imagine some of our birding friends will think we should know this answer, but
would like opinion. Perhaps they could be ones that stay or ones that have
migrated this far south. We are certain of the identification although we have
literally hundreds of goldfinches one might think could be misidentified.
Second, is anyone having many purple finches. Last year we had a steady
flock of from l4 to 20. This year we have had two males and one female thus
far.
Thanks for whoever would share an answer and good birding to all.
