[TN-Bird] Cades Cove, GSMNP birds

Cades Cove
Blount County
GSMNP
On Saturday, February 3, Karen Petrey and I walked around the Sparks
Lane section of Cades Cove. It was very cold and windy, and we
recorded only 22 species, as follows:
Canada Goose 36
Mallard 9
Bufflehead 63
RUDDY DUCK 1
NORTHERN BOBWHITE 12 (seen from the road, running through the underbrush)
Red-shouldered Hawk 1
Red-tailed Hawk 1
Wilson's Snipe 5
Red-bellied Woodpecker 1
Eastern Phoebe 3
American Crow 8
Carolina Chickadee 2
Tufted Titmouse 2
White-breasted Nuthatch 6
Carolina Wren 2
Eastern Bluebird 14
Hermit Thrush 1
Song Sparrow 6
Swamp Sparrow 1
Dark-eyed Junco 11
Northern Cardinal 1
