This morning I had a pretty male Purple Finch at our feeders to go along with
the other usual suspects. He was very different from the male House Finches.
Last weekend I had a female Purple Finch at the feeders. He was only around
for about 15 minutes before flying off, then I left for a few hours, so I
don't know if he is still around.
This is in the Riverchase subdivision of Hendersonville, in Sumner county.
Other birds seen were:
Starling
Robin
Eastern Towhee
Black Vulture
Field Sparrow
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Brown Thrasher
Cardinal
American Goldfinch
House Finch
Blue Jay
Carolina Wren
Carolina Chickadee
Red-Winged Blackbird
Mourning Dove
Eastern Bluebird
