[TN-Bird] Great mockingbird thrill!

Hello Birders,
Good morning from my home in the Charlotte Park area of West Nashville a few
blocks east of the Cumberland River's old Cleece's Ferry landing across from
Bell's Bend in Davidson County.
At 7:20 AM, on this date of my 26th anniversary of leaving Florida to drive
to Tennessee to STAY, I took peanut butter outside to feed my mockingbirds.
One of my mockers perched right up next to where I place the PB, so I just
offered the ball of peanut butter from the tips of my fingers, and the
mockingbird
FED DIRECTLY FROM MY HAND! It took about 6 or 7 bites before the cold
overcame a not-so-warmly dressed me and chased me back inside. Such a thrill!
Oh,
how I wish someone had been here to take a photo of the bird eating straight
from my fingers. Maybe someday, if I am lucky, the bird will perform when I
have an audience ready with the camera.
Isn't birding just the greatest fun!
Cheers & prayers,
Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
