[TN-Bird] Cedar Waxwings

I saw my first winter "bunch" of cedar waxwings quite by accident as we drove
the backroads into Kingston yesterday. I'm sorry I can't say exactly where, as
it was "on the fly." BUT, coincidentally, I was at Food City on the Turnpike in
east Oak Ridge a little later at noon yesterday and there were at least 60
(guess) cedar waxwings in the top of the holly at the edge of their parking lot
on the Turnpike. They were flying in a great follow-the-leader loop from the
holly to the bare tree next to it and back again. I watched as they repeated
this maneuver over and over again for maybe 5 minutes, during which time they
were joined by more and more fellow birds. I carry on only because they have
always been one of my favorites and I found it great coincidence that I saw 2
flocks on the same day. Johelen Stephenson
