I cannot recall all of the fascinating facts I learned of Sandhill Cranes but
all of this talk about herons mouseing stir what little I do recall from two
years back. I do remember learning in Nebraska that Sandhill Cranes had the
ability to pierce rodent's skull at the base nearly everytime they pecked into
the ground. All of this is interesting about the mice & herons because I had
assumed they were interested in the crayfish. Anyhow, it all proves how
fascinating the natural world is & how little we do know!!
