A beautiful drake Canvasback has been on a pond in the Whittington  
subdivision in Maryville since Sunday.  It was there at 9am this  morning.
 
Directions:
 
From US 411/129 heading toward South (towards Vonore) turn on Sandy  Springs 
Road at the Exxon station with the Backyard Burger sign.  Follow  Sandy 
Springs to the stoplight at the intersection with Montvale Station Road  where 
the 
road magically become Carpenter's Grade.  Continue to the BP  station and turn 
left onto Raulston Road.  Whittington entrance is next on  right.  Follow the 
entrance road to the stop sign.  Turn left and the  pond is directly in front 
of you.
 
The Canvasback has been sharing this pond with 15-20 Canada geese, 4-20  
Mallards and 8 white domestic ducks.  This is the first diving duck I've  seen 
on 
the pond in my 20 months here.
