This morning (Feb. 12) some cold resident Purple finch females (at 20 
degrees) were seen plucking small twigs from the tree in which they were 
roosting and 
flying off with them. Are they as anxious for spring as we are? Otherwise the 
usual suspects abound, with a large flock of brown headed cow birds 
yesterday.
