[tn-bird] Re: Eurasian Collared Doves

Troy,

As far as I know there is only one established
population of EUCD in the Upper Cumberland Region, and
I have little info about its recent status. In Pikeville,
Bledsoe Co., TN, 5 were noted by David Vogt 5 Feb 2000;
I presume this number of doves indicates a small local
population, but I have no other info to go on about it.

I have records from Overton Co. and DeKalb Co.,
but those involve singles that were sighted only once.
No other data has come my way for the 16 counties of
the UCR in TN.

Any chance you can determine if you have data
in your files from the TOS forays in Overton and
Cumberland counties during the mid-1980s?

I have yet to complete transcription of the
2001 point counts in Putnam Co. Sorry for this
delay, but it seems there is always something else
to do at night. Recently, I've been running NSWO
surveys; have had 3 so far in Big South Fork. Am
also working on 2001 CBC editing--and trying to
finish ms. of book on birds of the BSF. At least
I am not bored.

Best, Steve
