Hi all,
I am a bit surprised that no other eagle eyed TNBIRDERs have reported
the following news. On page 6B of the Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002 edition of
"The Tennessean" the headline for Anne Paine's article reads:
"Hunter fined for accidental shooting of rare swan"
Ms Paine's article includes the following:
"A trumpeter swan ... was killed accidentally by a hunter who has paid a
fine, according to court records.
David Evans, Jr., 43, of Jackson, paid $181.50 in Lauderdale County
General Sessions Court in Ripley, Tenn, this week.
That individual confessed to TWRA officers to mistakenly killing
a swan ....
Evans paid a $200 civil penalty to TWRA ....
The swans body has not been found."
