This bird follows along with the general rule that a single, wild, uninjured
white goose that shows up around the mid-south is much more likely to be a
Ross's than a Snow. I wished I had kept numbers over the years but it seems
to be at least 80% or more are Ross's from my experience. The reason will
probably elude us but the rewards are ours for this peculiarity of this
species. As their numbers increase rapidly in our area, it will be
interesting to see if this continues.
