[TN-Bird] Whooping cranes

I went after church to look for the whooping cranes. I was fortunate to
spot them immediately-they were in the area marked private drive, which is
to the right, not toward the sod farm which is to the left. There are two
ponds separated by what I take to be a gravel drive of some sort. They
were hanging out in that area & both settled down & sat there. Since I was
respecting the private drive signs, I couldn't get a photo-they would have
just looked like white blobs at that distance, but with my binoculars I got
great views.

On a non=bird=related note, I was awakened a few nights ago, not by my dog
barking, but by a coyote that sounded like it was under the bedroom window.
I assume it was just on the other side of the fence, maybe 50-60 feet away.
My dog started barking at that point. For the sound to be so close was
rather unnverving, even if I know in my rational mind they're not going to
jump a fence & go after a 90 pound elderly dog!
