[TN-Bird] CBC Report: Buffalo River and Savannah TN

The Buffalo River (Lawrenceburg) CBC was conducted on Wednesday, December 26.?
Nine participants in 6 parties tallied 77 species.??Highlights included Common
Goldeneye, Merlin, Am Woodcock (15), Barn-Owl, Loggerhead?Shrike (15-Still
holding strong in this area!),?Vesper Sparrow (3), Lapland Longspur, Brewer's
Blackbird?and Purple Finch (2).? Missed Red-headed Woodpecker and Rusty
Blackbird.
The Savannah CBC was conducted on Friday, January 4.? Fourteen participants in
7 parties tallied 104 species.??First count records for?Ross' Goose (2) and
Blue-winged Teal (1).? Other rarities included Sandhill Crane (16)?and Virginia
Rail (3).? Highlights included?Snow Gosse (904), Greater Scaup (3), Merlin (2),
Short-eared Owl, all three nuthatches, ?Vesper Sparrow (22), Lapland Longspur
(62) and Purple Finch (2).? Missed Bobwhite, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Loggerhead
Shrike, House, Sedge and Marsh?Wrens, Palm Wabler and LeConte's and?Lincoln's
Sparrows.
