[TN-Bird] American Woodcock

I have been listening for the Woodcock that has been visiting my place for
the last few years. I did not hear or see it last year. I stepped outside
this evening around 6:15pm to do a few things and immediately heard the Peent
of the Woodcock. I walked towards the Peent and then heard the whir of wings
and the calling of the Woodcock. The Woodcock rose higher and higher and
then I could hear its call coming closer as it descended toward the open
field. I never got a visual on it and of course did not have my binoculars.
It
started its Peent call a short time after landing and in a couple of minutes
whirred into the air again. It was nice to know he had returned once again.
