Just a comment of Great Horned Owls calls, By working with Tennessee =
Wildlife Resources Agency for over ten years; I have seen and heard a lot =
of night time activity and noises. Last year I did hear an adult Great =
Horned Owl screaming. After triangulating him, I found him hunting in an =
area with a huge parking lot light surrounded by at least 500 acres of =
woods and fields. It was a lighted area, which probably helped in his =
stalking abilities. First contact of this bird was in late June and =
early July around 12-2am in the morning. I found the bird again in mid =
October doing the same thing this time was at dusk. The owl seemed to be =
by itself and would fly to different areas of the lighted field, but was =
continually screaming, and not hooting. This occurred in Maury County TN.

Good birding!
