Last weekend we spotted a beautiful Pileated Woodpecker on our afternoon
walk behind our neighborhood.  We watched for a "good" thirty minutes.  It
was very exciting for us as we have only seen one once before, and that was
two years ago.  I did my happy dance!!  :)

On Monday I had a male Common Redpoll in my backyard.  This was the first
time I had ever seen one of these birds. He visited a couple of my feeders
and ended up perched on the ground picking at what had fallen.

I'm heading out tomorrow morning in search of the Pileated Woodpecker
again...............we'll see :)
