[TN-Bird] Sightings Report 10&11 Jan 07 Ensley Bottoms Area,Memphis TN

Sightings Report 10 & 11 Jan 07 Ensley Bottoms Area,Memphis TN
Visited the Ensly bottoms area two days straight for lunch. Same ole same
ole. Good float of Scaup on the big TVA. Mixed ducks in the Riverport Rd
Ponds and sloughs.
Location: TN 2 Mem, Riverport Rd Ponds / Swamp
Observation date: 1/10/07
Notes: Lunch time visit the ponds and sloughs still filling up nicely.
Number of species: 10

Gadwall 4
Mallard 4
Ring-necked Duck 12
Pied-billed Grebe 1
Turkey Vulture 1
Red-tailed Hawk 2
American Kestrel 3
Mourning Dove 4
Eastern Bluebird 1
Location: TN 2 Mem,TVA PONDS
Observation date: 1/10/07
Notes: Still a good size float of birds practically all Lsr Scaup with a
handfull of Greater here and there. DC Cormarants still hanging out in the
rear of the pond. Coots must be down on the main lake or river area.

Observation date: 1/11/07
Notes: Float a bit larger than yesterday.Lots of gulls today. They are
dredging the NW corner and they are diving on the morsals coming up.
Cormarants flying in and out as is the ducks. Once again a few of the lgr
Greater scaup are mixed in. Missing are any other ducks.Did not have a
scope. There were some ducks way in the back that may have been Ring necks
but???? I couldn't see them well enough. Coots are back today.

Notes: Good water levels. Ducks moving through from pond to pond through
the breaks in flooded timber. More variety of birds here in the brush and
timber. TVA has numbers though.
