Sightings Report 3 Jan 07, Ensley Bottoms area, Memphis, Shelby County, TN
Location: TN 2 Mem, Riverport Rd Ponds / Swamp
Observation date: 1/3/07, 130-150pm
Notes: Lunchtime run down to the bottoms. Water is up everywhere. The
first slough next to the creek has water, ducks and turtles. Lo 50's today
not many ducks visible.

Mallard 13
Ring-necked Duck 18
Hooded Merganser 2
Great Blue Heron 2
Red-tailed Hawk 3
American Kestrel 2
Belted Kingfisher 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker 1

Notes: Where'd all the ducks go???? Well cold weather came in, warmed up
and it's nice out... duck numbers are way down from last week. The big float
of birds is there but only about 1/3rd the amount. Looks like all lsr Scaup.
Only 2 Coots. Cormorants still controlling the back perch on the big pond
with the Gulls. Little pond had only 2 Heron in it.
