FreeLists / tn-bird / [TN-Bird] Preliminary results of Hiwassee CBC

With all but a couple of parties reporting, 98 species have been tallied
so far on the Hiwassee CBC (Meigs, Rhea, Hamilton and Bradley Counties)
on January 1.  I had a difficult time finding people to help this year,
so I want to really express my appreciation to those who helped! 
Highlights included:

-         6 White-fronted Goose

-         1 Snow goose

-         Redhead

-         1 Red-breasted Merganser

-         Northern Bobwhite (getting very tough on this count)

-         12 Least Sandpiper

-         1 Barn Owl 

-         2 House Wren

      -     Well over 10000 Sandhill Cranes

 

 

I will give more detailed information when I receive it.
