[TN-Bird] Shrike Study- NO GPS REQUIRED!

After some concern over the strict requirment that a GPS was needed to
report shrikes (for the shrike study I recently sent an email on. The link
below has the data sheets) to Nathan Klaus, he responded with the following
letter:
Do you need a GPS unit to help with this survey? No, actually. I've
>>had a lot of requests by birders that want to help with shrike research
>>but that do not have a GPS unit. In the interest of getting more
>>records, we will accept a photo copy of a Delorme Atlas map with dots on
>>it for where the two surveys were conducted (where the shrike is and
>>where you conduct the second survey of unoccupied habitat at least 1
>>mile away, this is made clear on the data form). Make sure you put
>>these dots as accurately as possible and make sure you indicate both
>>locations on the map. So, for those of you who would like to help with
>>this survey, here again is the link to the data sheet.

>>
>>Make sure you carry this in your car with you birding, shouldn't take
>>more than about 5 minutes to complete a form. If you have any questions
>>please send me an e-mail.
>>
>>Thanks,
>>
>>Nathan Klaus
>>
>>PS. For those of you who are internet savvy there is a website where you
>>can get lat/long in the correct format (decimal degrees, NAD 83),
>>www.topozone.com.
