Paris Landing State Park
Henry Co. TN
When I arrived at the state park and viewed Gull Island, I found 3 immature
and 1 adult Bald Eagle. The world's fastest animal took offense and streaked
into the picture. By the time I left the Peregrine had dived on and chased off
the 3 immature birds and was steadily working on the adult. The Peregrine
would rest on part of the bridge, near its peak between these bouts of
harassment. I tried to get some photos but it was too distant and too dark.
You can
see the eagles dancing on their perches with just a gray blur passing over
them.
There were quite a few White Pelicans feeding on the TN River side of Pace
Point and they would unison feed, driving schools of shad right up to the bank
just below where I sat off Coot Cove. At that time the gulls would fly in and
it was like sitting in a noisy blizzard with white bird swirling all around.
What a birding rush!
Good Birding !!!
